Date: 2025-03-07 08:19 pm (UTC)Basically a small portion of the people answering the questions on any given poll are not actually paying attention and are giving random answers. On longer polls, you can try to detect them by asking a question like "Are you, personally, a lizardman from Alpha Centauri?" or "Do you have a license to drive a Virginia-class submarine?" And you'll find that somewhere between 1% and 10% of the people taking the poll will answer "yes" to one or both of those questions, but you can be reasonably confident that everyone should answer "no".
So while it's possible that there are some Canadians that want to be annexed, it's likely that most of that 3% were just people giving random answers to the questions.
