Sad male fan capitalizes on way to be even more creepy to female fans.
As seen on a wide variety of LJ accounts. I have to say there's a clear consensus on the idea of treating women's bodies as public commons and it's not heading in the direction of commutarian touching. Who could have predicted that outcome?

It's just amazing how much this resembles debates of ten or fifteen years ago before we all learned what form of online arguments are pure Bull. So far as I've seen and heard from friends of mine, the number of people who say "oo, creepy" and the number of people who say "oo, neat" are about even, though I will say the latter are more likely to do so in locked posts now that they've seen the stones being thrown.
I don't personally know of any sad male fen on my side who are primarily treating this as an excuse to grope and get off it. Can you point me to one? No wait, "all the people on your side" implies lots more than one. Can you point me to many?

Date: 2008-04-23 11:34 pm (UTC)More like, "90% of the women on my friendslist hate this project and never want to be anywhere it's being implemented."
I would be one of those women. I don't care how much you like it.
I don't want strangers to touch my tits or to ask if they can. I don't want anyone who I am not in a relationship with to touch my tits or to ask if they can touch my tits unless we are actively making out in private. I don't want to be part of a society where strange men feel comfortable walking up to me and asking to put their hands on the intimate parts of my body, and I do not want to have to wear a little button on my clothes to forestall these unpleasant conversations, either.
DO NOT WANT.

Date: 2008-04-25 01:08 am (UTC)What's apparent on reading this thread is that you're very much in the minority here for lauding the project, and you're dismissing a lot of very real concerns because they don't apply to you. They do seem to apply to the vast majority of commenters. Male and female, which is a pleasant surprise.
The people who are supporting martin_wisse are in fact open, visible and right there on this LJ post. Come to this web page, read and count.

The fact that you have two X chromosomes and you're OK with what happened, or that
