Quite like seeing some of the prices over at the Subterranean site.

And huzzah! It means Ibid no longer tries to warm up by sprawling across Groucho, much to Groucho's relief. Ibid is enough bigger than Groucho to pin him down when he uses him as a pillow and Groucho does not appreciate that.

There was some concern early on when G saw the blanket, which happens to be the same colour as his old enemy, the fuzzy white blanket, but he decided it was different enough that he stopped growling at it after a while.

Some, like Ibid, don't generalize well enough to realize they will be next.

Fig came over to wait his turn, looking unhappy while he did it. Everyone got a cat treat but he got two.

Trouble With Tribbles first aired.

For the third reboot Trek movie, should they do a sexier, darker, sexier version of Tribbles?

Fade to White (Catherynne M. Valente)

Read by Kate Baker

In a world shaped by an interminable nuclear war, various special measures to address the population issues are imposed on the population, ones that ensure almost nobody is happy with their lot in life.

This could easily have been an old time SF story but if it had been, the tone of the story would have approved of the eugenics and perhaps the regimented sex lives as well; if it didn't then the designated lovers would have tried something more active than they actually do.

This was a 2012 Nebula Award Nominee for Best Novelette, a 2013 Hugo Award Nominee for Best Novelette, and a 2012 Sidewise Award Finalist for Best Short-Form Alternate History

Misfortune's Isle V1 (Richard Matthews Hallet)

Misfortune's Isle V2 (Richard Matthews Hallet)

A daring raid on a poorly defended pirate fort goes horribly wrong when it turns out the defenders have more numbers than planned for, may know the attackers' plan, the attackers' ship goes aground and it turns out the gunpowder is wet. On the plus side, the protagonist gets to meet a nice lady. On the minus side, her well-connected husband doesn't seem too open minded.

What I learned from this is I need a Escape Episode with dialog by supposedly Chinese characters warning (although the fellow himself seems oddly calm in the face of what appears to be certain death). Also, the people of this time really loved their White Goddess twists.
