Nothing like coming home to a kicked-in front door.

Nothing taken - no evidence anyone came in. If I have to guess, it was someone throwing a tantrum over the vacant lot next door being fenced in.

Huh

I'm used to products not working or only doing half the job but WD-40 unfroze two disused locks in roughly 20 seconds.

So, last night

The constable took away with him a beer can left by my door-kicker. Apparently they can do DNA testing on quite trivial cases (which if true I had no idea) and if the guy who left the can is in the system, they can show he was on my porch and go chat with him. Not 100% useful because it doesn't link them to my door but apparently there's some history of people spontaneously incriminating themselves in conversations.

I just actually looked at the door instead of the door jam. I bet the absolutely perfect bootprint on the door could link the owner of the boot to the door.

The forensic guy said it was an exceptionally clean, crisp boot print.

Some male singer covered Killing Me Softly With His Song but rather than keeping it as is or changing it "Killing Me Softly With Her Song" changed to "Killing Her Softly With My Song." Anyone remember who that was?

I guess it's not elephants, huh?
