Apparently I've used that subject line before. Huh.

The review at this (new?) blog [snip] makes me wonder if there's a concerted effort to make this a Cause.

"This" relates to the reviewer dwelling briefly on the fact that apparently this editor's anthology has an all-male TOC.

Nicked from oldcharliebrown, who did a much better job of outlining the notable bits than I am going to.

What authors do and do not control.

The second list is rather longer than the first.

Interesting consequence of this bit: the majority of authors are treated like modern royalty: the touch of an author is said to cure scrofula every bit as effectively as the touch of a member of the royal family. In fact, I have just sent off a bunch of letters to American insurance companies suggesting that they make this their approved treatment for this and other maladies.

I missed writing up the last session. Short version: our possession of an artifact of plottiness has entangled us in the politics of the Goblin nation next door. Said nation has two major factions: the pro-literacy and internal development guys and the demented militarists. Our government has requested we make life easier for the first set and not the second. As a side effect, we're now kind of working for the Breeland Secret Service.
