Oilers eliminate two women's washrooms

Female sports fans were in an uproar after the Edmonton Oilers converted two women’s restrooms into men’s bathrooms during the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Wow. The trend down here when building sports arenas, or any public venues, has been to build more or larger women's restrooms than men's. Not that I can claim knowledge that the gender distribution of hockey is significantly different up there than down here. Overall I know lots of rabid female sports fans across all sports, myself, I used to record the Superbowl to watch the ads, but I don't bother with that anymore. I do record the Olympics and watch that, that's about the limit of my sports interest aside from the occasional soccer match.

What a bunch of idiots! It's been known for years that you need more women's bathrooms than men's at any kind of large public facility. Women take longer, so throughput is lower as far as "person in, does business, person out" goes.

...I still remember some event at the Superdome shortly after it opened, when they made the mistake of having ONE woman's restroom open to however many for the men. We women got tired of the lines when the men's restrooms weren't even being used, so we took over at least one of the unused men's restrooms to even things up. Not one man objected.
