That's extremely generous of Max Gladstone's publisher, especially since I have a hard time imagining the Vorkosigan series not winning the Best Series award in its inaugural year.

The October Daye series requires a convoluted set of extra steps - it runs through NetGalley, which works with Adobe Digital Editions and has mobi files that can be sent to a Kindle but apparently not to Kindle-for-PC, even though the instruction PDF says they can.

Instruction PDF: The MOBI version will be sent straight to your Kindle device or your Kindle content on your Amazon account, and can be read either on a Kindle device, or using the Kindle for PC application (download here), which is available for Windows, Macintosh, Apple iOS, or Google Android.

NetGalley's send to Kindle instructions says: NetGalley titles are not compatible with Kindle for PC/Mac since it does not support Personal Documents.

Looks like I can't get the Mobi versions, and will have to sign up for ADE to get the epub ones.
