The 2016 Hugo Finalists

Once again, I am a mere background figure, not even a red shirt. But there are some interesting works up for Hugo, as well as puppy crap destined to place below no award.

The Hugo website credits the piece to Greyland. Is the piece being misrepresented?

There are two pieces, the "safe space" one [vomit] and one by Greyland.

It is Greyland. https://askthebigot.com/2015/07/23/the-story-of-moira-greyland-guest-post/ I hadn't been aware that she now believes her parents' abuse was directly related to their being gay and that homosexuals recruit children, etc., etc. I suspect they're hoping to get votes by people who don't realize which story they're voting for.

I believe her story of what her parents said and did. I don't (of course) believe in her adult worldview, but I can certainly see how you'd get there from that upbringing.

Right, I agree. I think her beliefs show how far her parents damaged her and left her vulnerable to further hurtful influences. As I said almost two years ago of her father, "I think he hid behind the identity of a gay man, which wasn't really who he was at all, and that in itself was yet another way in which he was being horrible. The people who praise his contributions to gay studies are totally missing the point. It's people like him who poison the well of gay studies."
