On my walk today

I encountered a dog who was doing a much better job of climbing a tree than I would have expected.

My nephew had a similar experience with his new dog. It is part labrador. They didn't realize it was part Catahoula till after it had shown it's chops as a canine Houdini by repeatedly escaping from it's pen when they had to go out for errands.

The tree-climbing dog I mentioned below was a part Lab mongrel.

Was there something in the tree, or was it just expressing its inner squirrel?

I was about to ask if there was a *SQUIRREL!!!!* in the tree.

Not that I saw. No birds, either.

Huh. Maybe it was protesting cat vs dog stereotypes.

I used to live next door to a large black mongrel dog who enjoyed climbing trees and lurking in hiding until he could WOOF loudly from above head height at unsuspecting passing humans.

My nephew lives near Calgary. His dog is still a puppy though. I expect much hilarity will come from this.

BIG FRIENDLY WOOFS (that make passers-by jump out of their skins)!
