It is a terrible truth

That the more comfortable clothing is, the more likely it is to be near the end of its useful life.....

Partly because the less comfortable items tend to be avoided in a long series of not-always-conscious decisions, unless nothing else is clean/suitable. So they don't wear out as fast.

Edit: I just can't visualize anyone saying to themselves "Nice day! I think I'll wear my uncomfortable shirt!"
