I actually hate ketchup, but yay!

Good news, this.

Now let's hope folks will actually buy French's ketchup...

-- Steve's politically motivated to do so, but his current bottle of Heinz (also produced from Leamington) will probably last until July.

It's tasty. And remember: the bottle still says made in the USA because they didn't actually save the plant, they just chose to buy the tomatoes which supplied the plant. Which is half a yay, but better than no yay.

My kids and their friends go through a fair bit of ketchup so I am generally several bottles ahead of them (I like to buy on sale) so when Heinz pulled out, I started buying other brands. We have tried the local co-op's house brand with mixed results and when that runs out we will try the French's we have in the cupboard. Hopefully we like that as I would rather not go back to the co-op brand. It is okay with some foods but not a flavour that can stand up on its own such as when you serve it on chips.

I don't give a damn about their ketchup, but nobody else's Worcestershire sauce tastes right to me. Long may the red pennant fly....

Will climate change lengthen the tomato-growing season in Leamington, Ontario?
