I'm really enjoying this series for both arcs, although it's true the grand plot arc is not much advanced in this one.

I'm also waiting impatiently for the next book's softcover release. It's already available as an ebook, but I want a matched set!

I've been meaning to get to this one, but I was unsure how adding children into the mix would affect the quality; I generally find adding kids to an ongoing series to be a buzzkill for me. But I think I'll give this a try.

The kids are not twee in this one, for sure.

I also follow more for the people than the "big plot" with Pelley. I do like Oath Bound (book 5) even more than this book--long distance flight! Alexander's tomb! Ethiopia! Stasi! (omg, Stasi)

Plus we're getting more of the pre-WWII maneuverings by the Germans and Italians and others.

I was surprised at how much I liked the kids. As characters, they're okay, not annoying, not something I'mg going to fall in love with-- but their effect on Mitch and Stasi is amazing. That's not the typical "get married, settle down, have three kids" story I nope out of.
