I used to get better vibes from those services when I ticked the "business" box (as a person working from home) rather than the box saying "residence."
But still, they arrange their routes to suit themselves, and there's no penalty for failed deliveries.
So far this delay appears less serious than UPS losing my copy of the deluxe, limited and final print run of the OGRE board game. I was hoping to pick it up today but it looks it so it could "surprise" me the 24th but it look like it's disappeared. :(
That was a dumb promise for them to make. The weather sucked today, the roads were worse, and the traffic was worse yet. I was out and about today at about 5pm and nobody was going anywhere at all. I finally parked the car and went to Wendy's for dinner. Forty-five minutes later the weather still sucked and the roads were still bad, but traffic was gone which made a world of difference. I can handle bad weather and bad roads, but mixing that with the idiocy of others is beyond my pain threshold.
The whole eastern part of North America has been hammered by bad weather for the past several days. I am in raw terror over the looming of Christmas. Next weekend, with the possibility of no snow, is going to be an absolute madhouse.

(I don't know what the weather limitations might be on the operation of package artillery.)
