Nope. And as far as I can tell, the only mention the BBC have made of this is the BBC Press Office release the article all but reprints. 'Development' is a long way off from 'Pre-Production' is a long way off from 'Filming' is a long way off from 'On TV screens'.

And for all we know, 'Development' might have turned it from Science Fiction into Gritty Political Drama. As has happened before but in reverse - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V_%28The_Original_Miniseries%29#Influences

As far as I know, no, but I'm so out of the loop I didn't know Inspector Lewis was back on PBS for the new season. Dammit.

Related: An article on the sidebar in the link asks if Stephen Fry is the UK's most annoying man. That anyone would think he was even a contender is beyond me; the UK seems to have as many annoying, useless celebrities as the US does. Fry doesn't even come close.

Someone's been putting out audio dramas on CD starring Colin Salmon as Avon. I'm not sufficiently interested to hunt these down, but poking around on their website I noticed another remake announcement, dated nearly a year ago, from another British TV channel. Presumably this hasn't gone anywhere either.

Colin Salmon.

You interest me strangely. Colin Salmon.

There was an actual remake done... but it was radio only.
