Also, not that the graphic novel can do much with it, the New Teen Titans _had_ an obvious could be/turn evil member: Raven. But she was misdirection.

IIRC, wasn't it not so much misdirection as "Let's actually do something about the impending corruption of our teammate" (which incidentally isn't her fault)? Granted it's been decades.

I also remember in the scene where their looking at pictures of Raven, the latest ones made her look like she was in her 30s.
