Ill Met in Lankhmar was my introduction to the series. Fortunately I'd already encountered Lieber, so I gave it another go a few years later on the strong recommendations of others.

My first encounter with these stories was "The Bazaar of the Bizarre" in Magic for Sale. I eventually read Swords Against Death but didn't explore further.

I'd been hoping you'd do this one! The only time I read Lankhmar was one of the very late books, and I hoped that, ah, the quality was higher earlier in the series. I suppose I am still unclear on that.

Some of the middle stories are quite enjoyable. I'd say the high point is "Stardock" (pun very much intended).
