You can go home again but sometimes you will find waiting for you weaponized mammoths.

Authors whose plots have a habit of getting away from them could take a lesson from Vo.

Imagine an alternate universe where Nghi Vo was the author of [insert name of extremely long series / insert name of extremely long unfinished series ]. Why, a 15-book 'trilogy' could become a 3-book trilogy!

If the stories are so short, I wonder if they'll eventually come out with a multi-volume omnibus edition, whether dead tree or digital.

In the description in your "Books Received" it appears that clerics (but not clerics' close friends who are hoopoes) are pronouned "they", even when they are or were someone's grandfather. I take it this isn't sustained inside the book? So perhaps the publisher is more worried about this than is the author, or the characters.
