I liked these books a lot: the partnership is marvelous, and the stories fairly creative. However the 4th one stops on a huge cliffhanger, and I've seen no evidence Malan intends to continue them. Woe!

The sad old song of "they didn't sell." But the cliffhanger doesn't bug me, probably because it's Dhulyn and Parno! They'll be fine! Eventually.

Yes, I loved this series too!

I hope that like Susan R. Matthews*, VM gets another book deal that sees her OP titles back in print, with new novels a-coming. A bookseller and fan can hope, anyway.

Re the Sleeping God, there's a similar trope in W*ll Sh*tt*rly's "Cats Have No Lord."
