As near as I can tell from this map, wheat doesn't need topsoil. Also, this fails to take into account one of the benefits of global warming, which is that coastal areas will have other things to worry about. I think we may a solution to the periodic outbreak of warhawks here.

The only way this couldn't be terrifying is if there were other crops Americans could grow, if by some chance most Americans weren't farmers anymore or if there were some way to move food from one region of North America to another.
