River Song was the child of Earth humans who seems to have gotten some Time Lord abilities, including regeneration, just by being conceived in a TARDIS in transit.
...And the more I think about that, the less sense it makes but the more unused story potential I see there. People can do this and make quasi-immortal regenerator babies? Is the important moment when the sperm goes into the woman or when it goes into the egg a few days later? Do the Time Agents of the 51st century know about this property of the Vortex? When does somebody with access to a bunch of vortex manipulators try to construct a flying Vortex conceivatorium to create an army of River Songs?
Other inherited traits seem to be an inability to work well with organized authorities (even when one is President of Gallifrey), or to avoid having dramatic and improbable adventures. These qualities are probably not ones the Time Agents would want...
