The computer store I've used since 2008 stopped opening for business in August and now the front door has a letter from the landlord barring all unauthorized persons from entering the premises.

I have to admit, I saw this and thought "Oh, no, a cat or respected science fiction author has died!"

I feel your pain. My local British-imports grocery store just wasn't there when we drove in to pick up supplies. :(

At least I am better off than those people who had computers in for repairs when the place suddenly ceased opening.

I assume they get them back. We had this happen with a lamp that was in for repairs when a store went bankrupt. We did lose our deposit on some parts that were ordered, however (more accurately, we became just another unsecured creditor, and there was nothing left for us.)
