Fair enough! I agree; I read FEED primarily as a horror novel, and I do accept chickenwire and papier mache worldbuilding in horror novels more readily than in SF novels.
Though I do find surviving breadstick wrappers somewhat more plausible than Oxford historians in the year 2060 having no idea what a revolving door is, people who need a certain specific skirt not just going out and getting one because time travel, etc.
