Name plausibility question for the SF fans

If you came across the name Dr. Franklin Chang Diaz in a book (as, I don't know, a record holding astronaut/cutting edge plasma rocket expert), would you believe it was plausible or is it too H. Beam Piperish self-consciously multi-cultural, like Alberto Fujimori or Jessica Oyelowo?

My day job is data entry and I've seen some stranger. I'd believe Inarutu Smith or Mary Jane Ngomo at this point.

Yep - my job involves data entry, and I'd believe just about anything. Just registered a guy today with the first name of "Vestal." *shrug*

I knew a girl in high school who announced that she had every intention of changing her name to Destinee Starr. Despite what I've been asked every single time I've told that anecdote, she never mentioned interest in a career as a stripper.

My own name is a matter of choice, rather than what I was granted at birth. A person can be named anything they damn well want. I'm kind of surprised futuristic SF authors don't have more characters named things like Hiro Protagonist.

William P. Starr had his name legally changed to William D. Starr. (In the interests of maintaining his privacy, I'm not revealing what either middle initial stood for).

And thus, a nuclear war was averted.

I dare say there are many William D Starrs in the world, but I always thought the William December Starr who used to frequent rec.arts.sf.* had the coolest name in the known Universe.
