Are there five "Sincere believer in the status quo becomes rebel when he finds out his superiors are cynical exploiters who don't care about the premises of the status quo"? Seems to me I saw a lot of them but the only one that leaps to mind at the moment is If This Goes On...

"Universe"/"Common Sense" fits that category as well. Job and "Logic of Empire", if you squint. Wonder if RAH's superego was trying to tell him something... As does Rite of Passage, which RAH probably never stopped irrationally hating long enough to notice. [1]

("Coventry" is sort of the reverse.)

[1] If I had a time machine I'd write a Starship Troopers fanfic where Rico gets radicalized, in hopes that it would come to RAH's attention and he'd really blow a gasket.

Hurley's The Light Brigade is almost that alternate version of Starship Troopers

Honestly, the new She-Ra Princess of Power series fits in that- the very loyal Horde Force Commander Adora has a mental break when she actually meets the people they're fighting.
