A month of modafinil

What seems to work is half a pill in the morning and a half in the afternoon. More alertness but when it wears off, it wears off very quickly. Also not loving the minor head-ache I get about an hour after I take it.

Still not convinced that it improves cognition, but at least I don't feel tired all the time.

Only seldom do I achieve a result that is close to 50-50.

You can ask if it comes in smaller doses. Pill splitters are a crude tool, at best, and are useless for odd-shaped pills.

So, still no sign of superpowers? How disappointing.

Also, if it's a sustained release formulation you will bugger up its pharmacokinetics completely by cutting it up, with Bad And Unpredictable effects. (And one a day pills are often SR types.)

Wikipedia says there are multiple mechanisms in use, and only some of them are affected by splitting.

Do the pills come with an informative leaflet that may cover that sort of thing?
