I would rank this as probably Lem's best book - which is really saying something.

I think Lem's best work was a series of stories that included one where future war descends into, initially, drone warfare and then nano-warfare, but not WWIII -- MAD keeps going on; but whose name I can't remember, and might not have been translated into English.
