I really, really liked it, though the protagonist is rather too Heinleinian-spunky-girl-takes-on-universe for some people. It's written in the form of her diary entries (and indeed, one can be forgiven for considering her something of an unreliable narrator, given her purposes in writing the diary). I've been panting for the sequel for about 15 years. :->
