One thing I'll say for Hogan is that he does tend to give the old guard their props. Those 'reasonable robots'? I wouldn't have been at all surprised if one of them had been given the moniker 'Daneel'. No Giskards, of course, given the publication dates.


On Edit: I just did a double take when I realized that -- assuming I can properly count my fingers -- R. Daneel Olivaw is Asimov's most frequently appearing character. Well, in his novels at least.

Wikipedia says that collection "Asimov's Mysteries" contains four with Wendell Urth, but another in which H. Seton Davenport of the Terrestrial Bureau of Investigation does not call on Urth, which may give him five?
