I seem to remember nothing about When Voiha Wakes, except that it was hard to find a copy. And the cover. I guess I should set up a reread stack.

It's Grey Mane of Morning in particular, though, that is so good. Red Moon and Black Mountains is very good too. But for whatever reason I could never warm up to When Voiha Wakes, despite it being set in the same Kendreth universe. In my opinion of course, which is not gospel, at least in this area! :)

I'm inclined to agree; When Voiha Wakes is the weakest of the three books. It does have some interesting things to say about art and about letting go, but it really doesn't compare to the other two.

Grey Mane of Morning is less concentrated than the first book, but it has more meat to it.
