Do I detect a "Tombs of Atuan" influence here?

This is one of the first (along with To Kill The Dead) works by Tanith Lee I ever read, and it remains my absolute favorite. I hadn't reread it in many years, but decided to do so after I found out about her death, and it remains something I love.

This was my first Lee. I read it at 11,when I bought it for the school library (very small school, and I was the librarian until I went to high school.Loved it, and have been reading her ever since.

I liked this one. I think I read it under a different title, though.
