Tuckerization question

There's a character in Robinson's Variable Star named "Charles Platt" who appears to be a revenge by Tuckerization on the writer/critic Charles Platt. Why Platt?

"I can call SF readers from the vasty deep!"

And by "vasty deep", I mean "livejournal."

Sometime ago, I noticed that Paizo is republishing the Northwest Smith stories. On closer examination, I see that they are republishing some other stuff as well. I'm reasonably well-informed about the Brackett and the Moore books but are the Kuttner and the Moorcock books interesting?

You will note that I did not ask about another author featured on that page and this was for a reason.

Whee!

How have I lived so long without ever hearing The Curse of Millhaven?
