A young Emilio Estevez would make a fine Robin.

Hmmm. The 1980s Titans had Cyborg, which is an issue unless you go with whitewashing.

Robin/Nightwing - Rob Lowe
Beastboy/Changeling - Emilio Estevez
Kid Flash - Anthony Michael Hall
Wonder Girl - Demi Moore
Starfire - Molly Ringwald
Raven - Ally Sheedy

Sounds about right. Not sure who you'd get for Cyborg. They'd probably go for a wrestler, or a football player trying to break into acting, and they'd be too old to play the character. Denzel Washington was already active, but he'd have to do a lot of bulking up for the role, and was already 30 by the time Breakfast Club came out.

Keenen Wayans? (Yes, I know, not in the BP, but same era)

Wesley Snipes was starting out (first appearances 1986). Eddie Murphy, but possibly too much comedy. Ice-T started acting in the mid-80s, but he acknowledges he was terrible back then. Forrest Whittaker was 23 in 1984. Laurence Fishburne was the same age and had a lot of experience at that point. Damon Wayans would have been 24.

There's actually a good number of actors who'd be about the right age at the time to play Cyborg.

I don't know how Ally Sheedy would have handled the 1980s Raven but she'd have been great at playing the modern era Raven. Black clothes, deadpan snark, what's not to love?

Well, Sheedy gets it by default. I had originally considered Moore, but then remembered Donna Troy was in the Titans at the time and pretty much had to go with her. Ringwald was too flighty for Raven, but would do Koriand'r well enough.

Starfire, flighty, yes; someone would have to work that into the script, too.

I'm not sure when Raven grew a sense of humor, but it was sometime between the George Perez era and the Teen Titans cartoon. I think the character is better for it. There's only so much the serious spooky loner can do dramatically and if she's making snarky one liners she's both enriching the dialog and engaging with the other characters.

We need a part for Harry Dean Stanton.

If the movie covers the Judas Contract storyline, maybe Melissa Gilbert as Terra?
