The Guardian are enjoying themselves:

Russian president Vladimir Putin has offered Congress a transcript of Donald Trump’s Oval Office meeting with Russian officials as proof that Trump did not reveal any intelligence. It was not immediately clear how Putin would have such a transcript available.

Earlier this morning Democratic Congressman Adam Schiff called Putin “Probably the last person [Trump] needs to vouch for him right now”.

A few moments ago in the White House, MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell asked secretary of state Rex Tillerson if the offer indicated that that Russians had wiretaps or bugs in the Oval Office, to which Tillerson replied “I would have no way to know that”, and left the room without answering any additional questions.

I'm sure Trump still thinks he's got the upper hand in this, just as I occasionally think I'm The True Emperor of the Universe after having one too many drinks at a con every few decades or so.

Problem is, I'm not the one who's suffering from the bigger plausibility gap right now.

For the life of me (hopefully not literally) I can't figure out why anyone believes it'd be an _accurate_ transcript.

Then I remember this isn't fiction and I think, oh my God, we're all going to die.

"Good Comrade! I have here in my hand a transcript of everything that went on in your offices! How did I get them? No no, don't worry your pretty little head about that. Your friend Putie take care of you..."

Eh. Seem more likely the Russians were carrying recording devices on their persons than planting them in the Oval Office.

Possibly Putin is trolling Trump by commenting that he's got access to Trump's taping system.

A+ for (non)use of the Oxford comma.

It would be easy to compare to Donald's version - and any discrepancy will fire up an American news cycle around the question, "Who you do trust more, Donald Trump or Vladamir Putin?"

And there's no way Donald benefits from Americans asking that question.
