If the US is very lucky indeed, Flynn will merely the the first Russian compromised domino to fall.

"Resigned" isn't worth much, alas. "Stripped of all security clearances and jailed pending a hearing" is more the sort of thing required.

Not a fan of Flynn. Don't believe he is truthful.

Here is an example of how I am never satisfied: The first thing I read yesterday about this (before the resignation was made public) was "Michael Flynn after lying about Russian contact" and I thought to myself, "Shouldn't that be, 'Michael Flynn resigns after lying about Russian contact'?"

But now that it actually is 'resigns', I find myself thinking, 'Shouldn't that be, "Michael Flynn is arrested after lying about Russian contact'?"

I was just wondering what somehow-20-percent-more-racist-and-incompetent crony they've got waiting in the wings now that this one's done.

I saw some reports saying that General Petraeus is a leading contender, though who knows -- you know the President loves to turn these things into reality show contests. According to USA Today, the other likely candidates are Romney, Giuliani, and Senator Bob Corker of Tennessee.

If Petraeus does get the job, he'll have 72 hours to notify his patrol officer (assigned to him after his conviction for mishandling classified material) of his change of employment.

It is a strange quirk of the current administration that a convicted felon who would have to get permission just to visit Washington DC looks like an upgrade from what we've got now.

Running a country isn't like running a business, no matter how many morons with microphones disagree.

Saying Trump is in over his head is like saying the Marianas Trench is under the sea.

Trump hasn't been president four weeks, and one of his top picks has to resign in disgrace.

Is this a record?

Pretty sure no executive order has been overturned by the courts in such a short time, either.

Oh, and no VP has had to cast a tie-breaking confirmation vote in... well, the history of the US congress.

Oh, I don't know. He talks a good game in front of a microphone, but his approach to policy has, to this point, been mixed.

I'll take 'mixed' over what we've got in the US.

Meanwhile over at Baen's Bar, the seasoned political observers lay the blame for this on... Obama? (Yes. This is actually what they are doing in the politics forum there. I'm not joking. It's all a leftist plot by Obama's deep state shadow government. All of it.)

If you know deep down in your heart that you are right then someone else is always to blame. And that someone else is always "the enemy".

It's always a bit amazing when you find people who actually take the National Enquirer seriously.

We don't need renewable energy, global warming is a hoax created by the Chinese to ruin our economy. Trump actually said that.
