I haven't played RPGs in a long time, but "Flying Buffalo Catalyst and the Great City" is a novel I would read.

I remember a Flying Buffalo International company from like half a century ago. Is this the same Flying Buffalo?

Indeed, it is the same company! What a survivor.

Also: I feel old.

You feel old? I used to work there! In the '80s! They still do play-by-mail (and email) computer-moderated games in addition to Tunnels & Trolls. The owner, Rick Loomis, is still working hard, has a very active Twitter feed, still doing conventions seemingly every other weekend. I often wonder if the company will survive his death.

And it's Flying Buffalo, Inc. though they do have partners in England, Japan and Germany, or did back in the day. I wonder if they are now the oldest RPG company still in its original form since TSR was bought out by WotC. I'm certain they're the oldest PBM company.

I remember when the truck arrived with the first (and probably only) print run of Mercenaries, Spies, and Private Eyes. And I have a lot of material in some of those books, mainly CityBook: Kings River Bridge and one of the Traps books, but I don't remember which. One of the last.

Fun times. Didn't pay worth squat, but that's the game industry for you.
