"Lawn of the Ancient Space God" does sound like a great name for a Spelljammer module...

Where can I get a poster of this for my wall so I can conform to the tropes of scifilandia?

As soon as I saw it, I started trying to figure out where the Hexarchate was. :)

I'm going with Space Bureaucrats, with major incursions into Alien Space China.

I am amused that, because of color choices, the Ancient Space God's Lawn appears to not have any grid beyond the border. Clearly one cannot actually get onto his lawn, as befits a powerful Space God.

Starships from lesser races are destroyed by the Cane of Shaking.

Okay, that amused me for a few seconds. But surely "Spacethulhu" belongs on the Ancient Space God's Lawn?

Even Space Cthulhu dares not invoke the shaking of the Cane Cosmic.

I would think the Ancient Space God's Lawn would butt up against Kirby Space, personally. But at least Kirby Space is next to the Sufficiently Advanced Aliens who Give Zero Fucks.

I love typing it out.

I get that the not!Federation needs to have a common border with just about everybody because plot reasons, but that starfish shape doesn't look terribly defensible.

Of course, give FTL, what does a "defensible" border look like? To move to the more general subject of space opera, that assumes an ability to spot and intercept ships over interstellar distances: depending on what sort of handwave is used [1] and how common actually useful planets are, the actual distribution of your inhabited planets through interstellar space may be irrelevant, since the real issue is finding out which of a hundred thousand suns scattered over six million cubic light years is the important one to your enemy.

[1] See, Alderson(?) Drive in the Niven/Pournelle universe, where interstellar travel depends on the control of essentially (on the interstellar scale) zero-dimensional points located one per sun and not necessarily connected to adjacent suns.

That’s why the Diverse Alliance needs to have all those patrolling starships that are always the only Alliance ship around whenever anything interesting happens.

"Yeah, but we're all the DANG help you'll need."
"I still think we need more DANG starships."
